On Monday, April 6th, the National Guard assisted Lake Chelan Food Bank with the distribution of boxes of food prepared by the Community Action Council. By shortly after 9:00 a.m. at least 50 cars were lined up behind Chelan Valley Hope’s Cornerstone building to receive food boxes. The National Guard is a unique element of the U.S. military that serves both community and country. The Guard responds to domestic emergencies and is here to support our community. Guard members hold civilian jobs or attend college while maintaining their military training part time. Guard Soldiers’ primary area of operation is their home state.
